The characteristics of the running-in period are as follows:

1. The wear speed is fast.

Due to the influence of processing, assembly and adjustment of new machine parts, the friction surface is rough, the contact area of the mating surface is small, and the bearing state of the surface is uneven. During the operation of the machine, the concave and convex parts on the surface of the parts are embedded and rubbed with each other, and the metal chips that have fallen off are used as abrasives to continuously participate in the friction, which further accelerates the wear of the matching surfaces of the parts. Therefore, parts (especially mating surfaces) are easily worn during the running-in period, and the wear speed is fast. At this time, if the work is overloaded, it may lead to the damage of parts and early failure.

2. Poor lubrication.

Because the fit clearance of newly assembled parts is small, and because of assembly and other reasons, it is difficult to ensure the uniformity of fit clearance, and lubricating oil (grease) is not easy to form a uniform oil film on the friction surface to prevent wear. Thereby reducing the lubrication efficiency and causing the early abnormal wear of the parts. In severe cases, it will cause scratches or bites on the friction surface with precise fit, which will lead to failures.

3. Loose.

There are deviations in geometric shape and fitting size of newly processed and assembled parts. At the initial stage of application, due to alternating loads such as impact and vibration, as well as the influence of factors such as heating and deformation, and the rapid wear and tear, the originally fastened parts are easily loosened.

4. Leakage occurs.

Due to the looseness of parts, vibration and the influence of machine heating, the sealing surface and pipe joint of the machine will show leakage; Partial casting, machining and other shortcomings are difficult to invent in assembly and debugging, but due to the vibration and impact in the process of operation, this shortcoming is exposed, which is expressed as oil (water) leakage. Therefore, leakage easily occurs during the running-in period.

5. There are many operational errors.

Due to the lack of understanding of the structure and performance of the machine (especially for new operators), it is easy to cause failures and even mechanical accidents due to operational errors.

At present, some users neglect the running-in period of the new machine due to the lack of common sense in using the biomass briquetting machine, or because of the tight construction period, or because they want to get benefits as soon as possible.
