Advantages and disadvantages of biomass briquettes
Biomass briquette fuel is more and more widely used in various fields. Biomass briquette produced by briquette machine used as fuel has the following advantages: Biomass briquette fuel is the fourth largest energy after coal, oil and natural gas. It is a clean fuel that meets the requirements of environmental protection and can replace coal. It is a key development direction in the future. Biomass fuels are widely distributed, diverse, inexhaustible, clean new energy that can be recycled, and an effective way to achieve China’s emission reduction targets.
1. The briquette fuel has high density, small volume, space saving and its convenient to store and transport. The loose crop residues such as straw are processed into compact biomass briquettes, which are convenient for storage and transportation, easy for popularization and application, and can realize commercialization. It solves the shortcomings of low density, low energy density and difficult storage and transportation of straw.
2. The fuel can burn fully. The combustible gas (i.e. volatile matter) content in biomass briquette fuel is usually 65%-70%, and the fixed carbon content is about 30%. Volatiles are gases that decompose some organic matter and minerals and escape at a certain temperature. Temperature, such as hydrogen, hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and other flammable gases, has high volatile content, flammability and stable combustion. After compression molding, the density of straw increases, and the rate of volatile precipitation is inhibited during combustion, thus improving the combustion efficiency of straw. Prolong the burning time of biomass briquette, and make the fuel burn more fully. The oxygen demand in the whole combustion process tends to be balanced, the combustion process is relatively stable, and the heat utilization is high.
3. Good economic and environmental benefits. Biomass briquette uses crop straws as raw materials, turning waste into wealth, which can not only create economic benefits, but also protect the environment, and has high environmental benefits.
4. Sustainable utilization. The ash after burning biomass briquette fuel is rich in plant ash, which can be used as fertilizer for planting to promote the growth of new plants, thus realizing the sustainable cycle of returning from biomass application to plant growth.
Of course, biomass briquette fuel is not all advantages, and there are some controversies about biomass fuel. For developed countries, farmers can also set up businesses on the spot. These enterprises also enjoy government subsidies, and the enthusiasm of farmers is very high. Besides the above advantages, the development of biofuel can also raise the price of food. But for backward and poor countries, the development of biomass fuel will definitely make the food problem in poor countries more serious and prominent. Therefore, there is still a long way to go to make biomass fuel benefit the whole world.
