A sifter can help purify material prior to briquetting

Why is a sifter necessary for briquetting and for a briquette plant?

Raw Material Sieve

Screening of feed is essential for materials like sawdust which may contain many wooden cut pieces before being processed in the briquette plant. These screens are standard items and available in many types and sizes. These should be of enclosed type to eliminate dust problems and preferably with a self cleaning arrangement having elastic balls. Various mesh sizes of screens can be used depending upon the type of material. For sawdust a screen of 10mm may be used. For coffee husk, rice husk and groundnut shells, screens may be employed to avoid contamination by extraneous materials like stones and steel pieces, etc. And the screen mesh should be based on the largest size of the feed. Another advantage of using a vibratory screen is that it can also act as a control gravity feeder either to a hammer mill or a flash drier. For capacities greater than five tonnes/hour, rotating screens known as trommels may be employed.

It is commonly seen that an overwhelming majority of clients will take sawdust, or saw shavings or even wood chips to produce briquettes or pellets. But Prior to drying or briquetting or pelletizing for a briquette plant or a pellet plant, purification of raw material cannot be omitted. Otherwise, machines like crusher or hammer mill, or even briquette machines and pellet presses will be damaged out of use. Thus, when you take into account moisture content of material, size of feedstock, you are supposed to pay some attention to purification of raw material.

The sifter is widely used in grading and purifying crushed materials, briquettes or pellets. It is also very useful in separating qualified briquettes or pellets, while unqualified briquettes or pellets can be returned back to the feed inlet of the briquette machine or pellet mill as raw materials. There are many kinds of sifter, such as single-layer sifter, two-layer sifter and three-layer sifter. Customers can choose the right one according to their own conditions and specific requirements.

Kingman provides all kinds of sifters to screen impurities and foreign matters from material, such as metal scraps and oversize materials in order to avoid unnecessary damage to the briquette machine. As for the position of a sifter or magnetic separator, Kingman will design for you thoroughly, as the sifter is a must for setting up a whole briquette plant or a pellet mill, either a sifter or magnetic separater. Magnetic separator can be installed on conveyer or some surge bin before briquetting or pelletizing so that surge bin with magnetic separator is a buffering zone to have briquetting and pelletizing going smooth. Multiple layer impurity separation will be considered in Kingman's offer in a bid to eliminate your worry for damages to machines and to prolong service life of machines.

In addition, KMEC also provides all kinds of briquette machine with delicate designs and high-quality. As a professional manufacturer of biomass briquette machine in China, we sincerely welcome customers all over the world to visit our company and cooperate with us. We hope to be a part of your success in briquetting business.
