What determines the burning time in the production of charcoal

Longer burning time of charcoal produced by briquette machine and carbonizing furnace marks the better quality. Only charcoal with longer burning time is more popular with the market, which can also promote the rapid development of charcoal machine equipment. But in the actual production process, the burning time of charcoal produced even by high quality briquette machine varies. So what exactly are the factors that determine the burning time of charcoal?

In fact, the burning time of charcoal produced by briquette machine is determined by two factors: one is the raw material, the other is the degree of charcoaling. In general, if the carbon content of charcoal is higher, the calorific value is larger in the combustion of charcoal. Besides, the superficial area of charcoal contacting with air is also required to be small to extend the burning time. The surface here refers to the outer surface of the material and the internal holes.

Methods to improve the charcoal burning time:
1. To improve the briquetting pressure of briquette machine in the production line, thus increasing the density and strength of briquettes.
2. Raise the final carbonizing temperature of the carbonizing furnace and lower the speed of heating and cooling to make the finished product produced with high density and high hardness.

The new type environmental smoke-free carbonizing furnace adopts flue gas recovery device based on the original carbonizing furnace. It is dust and gas free after recycling of the flue gas, which can be lighted like liquefied petroleum gas and used for heating, cooking and in the drying machine as well. The carbonization process of carbonizing furnace can be generally divided into three temperature periods:
(1) Drying stage: it starts from the ignition until the temperature rises to 160 ℃, then the moisture contained in the briquette evaporates mainly rely on the external heat and the heat generated by the burning of itself, while the chemical composition of briquette is almost unchanged.
(2) The initial carbonizing stage. In this stage, the heat is generated mainly by the combustion of briquettes to make the furnace temperature up to 160 ~ 280℃. At this point, there would be thermal decomposition reaction on the wood material and its composition has started to change, among which the hemicellulose would be decomposed to substances such as CO2, CO and a small amount of acetic acid.
(3) Comprehensive carbonizing stage. The temperature in the stage is 300 ~ 650℃. There is dramatic thermal decomposition on wood materials, at the same time, a large amount of acetic acid, methanol, wood tar and other liquid products are generated. In addition, methane, ethylene and other combustible gases are produced, which is burning in the carbonizing furnace. The thermal decomposition and gas combustion would produce a large amount of heat, which could make the temperature in the carbonizing furnace rise and make the wood materials carbonized into charcoal at high temperature.
